The Coolest Vans Shoes Ever

Vans ShoesVans shoes, like most other things these days, began with the dream of one person. This person was Paul Van Doren, and with his dream of manufacturing shoes and selling them directly to the public. The first official day of business was March 15, 1966, when the first Vans shoes store opened in Anaheim, California. Originally known as Van Doren Rubber Company.

The first Vans shoes had a diamond pattern in the sole across the entire bottom of the shoe. In March 19, 1976, Vans shoes came out with the first Era in red and blue vans authentic shoe. Twelve customers came into the Vans store that morning to purchase shoes. Since their weren’t any shoes in stock, Paul and Gordy asked the customers to come back in the afternoon. They then rushed back into the factory to make up the selected shoes.

The pro skaters Tony Alva and Stacey Peralta are the designers of these early Vans shoes. Pretty soon there were new colors and even slip on Vans shoes, and they became the latest craze of California to pay for their shoes.

By the early 1980s, Vans had become a successful and profitable company. On February 16, 1988, the original owners sold Vans to McCown DeLeeuw Co., an investment banking firm. Vans expanded and gained recognition across the nation and around the world.

The Vans shoes collection now features over 60 styles ranging from classic deck shoes and slip-ons to high performance skateboard shoes, snowboard boots and sandals. Vans snowboarding boots and skateboarding sneakers are specifically designed for today’s extreme sports culture, and are the footwear of choice among elite athletes worldwide. Vans shoes are distributed through over 190 company-owned retail stores and outlets as well as through a nationwide network of independent shoe, sporting goods and apparel stores.
